Postpartum Meet-Up

Spring has sprung!

Join Burr Ridge Birth Center and postpartum doula Emily Likins-Ehlers for a celebration of the spring equinox!

Postpartum is forever!

All kiddos are welcome & this meetup is for all caregivers. Dads, grandparents, Aunties, birth workers, nannies, and more! Come and connect with others who do the village work of child-rearing.

We will meet at The Little Red Schoolhouse in Willow Springs, IL for some nature-inspired play and community building.

Little Red Schoolhouse has indoor and outdoor educational spaces with bathrooms and is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

We will meet at the nature center and take a short stroll around the wooded area near the Longjohn Slough to observe spring’s signs of rebirth, renewal, and reproduction.

As we did at the Autumn Equinox, we will spend some time intentionally reflecting upon the cyclical nature of our earth, our bodies, and our lives as we bathe in the sounds of nature and introduce our children to the outdoors.

Make new mom-friends and brave the unknown with your baby in a safe & supportive environment. Socialize and have an adult conversation while the big kids run free and babies happily snooze in the springtime air.

Trails are crushed limestone and have no incline. If the weather isn't ideal we will explore the indoor nature center!

What to bring:

• Weather-appropriate clothes for yourself & your child

• Good shoes for walking

• Strollers or baby carriers

• Backpacks & diaper bags

• Sun protection 

• Water bottles & snacks 

• Consider packing a lunch & staying to enjoy the space after our event

No cost, invite friends & family to join us - the more the merrier. The event is open to the public. You do not need to be a BRBC client to join.
