Decoding Birth is a comprehensive childbirth education class designed specifically for those planning an out-of-hospital physiologic birth who want to understand how birth works—and how to support it. Rather than promoting fear or rigid rules, this class focuses on the conditions that help labor unfold smoothly and effectively.
You’ll learn the physiology of labor and birth, how hormones influence progress, comfort and coping techniques for unmedicated labor, optimal positioning and movement, and the stages of labor.
Decoding Birth empowers you and your support person with knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to trust your body, communicate your preferences, and navigate birth with clarity and calm. This class is ideal for anyone seeking a grounded, evidence-based path to an unmedicated birth experience—without dogma, pressure, or fear.
Decoding Birth is taught by a Burr Ridge Birth Center Staff Educator.
Duration: 2 Session Class
Format: One 3-hr virtual session + One 4-hr in-person session
