Beth Nielsen, MSN, RN - Birth Assistant

Beth is a Birth Assistant at BRBC and is honored to provide sensitive, trauma-informed nursing care to all families laboring at the birth center.

Beginning her career in fine arts, Beth transitioned to birth work after her transformational experiences giving birth to her three children under the care of midwives. She became a doula in 2013 and attended Rush University's Master of Science in Nursing program in 2020. After obtaining her nursing degree she worked in a hospital-based labor and delivery unit and found that it didn't align with her values surrounding normal physiological birth, bodily autonomy, and consent. She is thrilled to have found a home at Burr Ridge to provide sensitive care, emotional support, and warm hospitality.

Beth returns to her truest self when sewing and creating and loves to bike to the library with her family, while at the same time maintaining a steady diet of true crime podcasts and reality television. She lives for brunch and Chicago summer.
